Kingston assessors reviewed data showing commercial property values could jump 35 to 40 percent next cycle.
Board of Assessors · Meeting of October 13, 2026
Kingston assessors reviewed data showing commercial property values could jump 35 to 40 percent next cycle. Martin Clark told the Board of Assessors the town's appraisal contractor, Vision Government Solutions, had completed its work but said he still needed to review the reports before recommending changes. Residential values are projected to rise only 2 to 3 percent, a gap officials attributed to commercial values having "hasn't moved in five years." Board members cited a former Sears site apartment complex in the Kingston Collection, now among the town's top five taxpayers, as an example of the market shift.
The board also tabled signing draft meeting minutes for lack of an original copy and voted unanimously to enter executive session under MGL Chapter 59, Section 60, to discuss exemption and abatement applications.
