Kingston's Waterfront Committee approved prior meeting minutes 3-0 and reviewed a wharf reconstruction grant timeline that could move up to spring. Members Tom, Jared and Matt were present at roll call; member Mike Ellis was absent. A September 17 coordination call with contacts identified as Val, Erin, Linnea of the Woods Hole Group, a Collins Group representative and a state official found the CPort grant now runs on the same schedule as the CCM grant, opening a possible application window as early as March.
A new Chapter 91 license will be required for structural wharf changes, carrying a $75 fee. On a prior grant, the town recovered 80 percent of its costs, $24,000 of roughly $30,000 spent. Completion was estimated at "2030, or beyond," though construction could start as early as fall 2027 if the grant timeline accelerates.
Member Sean said of the process, "I'm not worried about that."
