Select Board · Meeting of October 13, 2026
Kingston's Select Board voted 5-0 to hire outside counsel to answer an open meeting law complaint over its handling of a Duxbury sewer agreement. Resident Marsha Meekins filed the complaint alleging the board approved the Miramar Sewer Agreement at a "hastily called" May 7 meeting without public disclosure of its terms. Petitioner Daniel Zotos said 400 residents signed citizen petitions, Articles 15 and 16, headed to the October 27 special Town Meeting, while resident Susan Sherman said the board "sold to a private developer what can only be assumed for poor budgeting." The board also continued a nuisance dog hearing for 15 Nottingham Drive to November 10 pending a new stockade fence, and recommended Town Meeting approve a $2.5 million cellular water meter purchase (4-1) and a bylaw banning data centers (4-1) among 14 warrant articles.
