Kingston Select Board unanimously appoints two co-response clinicians to Police Department

Kingston Select Board launches co-response mental health program with two new Police Department hires. Meeting remotely in a special three-member session after a snowstorm delayed last week's regular meeting, Chair Eric Krohn and members Donald and Missy Bateman voted 3-0 to approve employment agreements for Gabriela Cohen and Kate Eldridge as the department's first full-time co-response clinicians. Lieutenant Scobera, who led the hiring effort with assistance from William James College and contracted clinical supervisor Caitlin Leary, described Cohen as a multi-municipality co-response veteran and Eldridge as a Kingston resident with multiple master's degrees and a background as a clinical program director.

The police chief called the appointments "the brightest next chapter in the history of the KPD." A full five-member introduction of the two clinicians is planned for the March 10 meeting.
