Conservation · Meeting of June 24, 2026

Kingston's Conservation Commission voted to impose three new $300-a-day fines on a 6 Prospect Street dam-side property over missed deadlines and a newly found, unpermitted septic system near Foundry Pond's dam. Conservation Agent Matt Penella told the board "the report found evidence of a septic system near the right abutment of the dam." Separately, the commission voted 4-0, with one member recused, to order installation of 10 conservation posts and a secured rear gate at 164 Pembroke Street after a site visit found dumping and tree removal within 15 feet of a certified vernal pool, plus a one-time $300 fine for cut trees. The board also voted 4-1-0 to pause fines at 44 Rabbit Road pending a July 8 progress check, and continued hearings on a 19 Blair Drive seawall rebuild, a Ring Road solar battery fire plan, and four other properties into July and August.
