Kingston COA Advisory Board Recommends Two Members, Hears GATRA Transit Briefing

KINGSTON — April 14, 2026 — Kingston's Council on Aging Advisory Board recommended two members for Select Board appointment and heard a detailed briefing on regional transit options at its April 14 meeting. The board voted unanimously to recommend Melissa Clemons for a new seat, then voted 3-1 to recommend reappointing a nine-year member, Maureen, whose term expires June 30 — a recommendation that requires the Select Board to waive the board's own term-limit policy, as it has done previously. Carrie Victorio, community engagement coordinator for GATRA, outlined the SAIL fixed-route bus and ADA paratransit service — both currently free through a grant expiring June 30 — and confirmed that GATRA has secured grant funding to revive its Boston Hospital bus, dormant since before the COVID-19 pandemic, with details to be released by GATRA Director of Transit Operations Angie Constantino. Director Holly reported that the COA's FY27 budget of $433,947.77 was approved by the Finance Committee on March 5 and that the center received a $50,000 unrestricted bequest from the estate of the late Barbara Potter, accepted by the Select Board on March 10.
