KINGSTON — The Kingston Council on Aging Advisory Board tabled a resident suggestion box after members split over handling unsigned complaints, sending it back to September's agenda. Lucy Coletta detailed more than 12 years of donations from the center's knitting and crocheting group, which has shipped afghans and hats to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Denver fire victims and NICUs in three states. The director reported the fiscal year 2027 budget was set at $433,947, a 1 percent increase, while transportation rides rose to 4,067 for the year, up 551, and cafe meals climbed 18 percent to 4,428.
One board member warned against reviving the old suggestion box practice: "You don't do that if it's not signed and you're getting complaints." The board unanimously accepted its June 9 minutes and adjourned near 12:05 p.m.
