Water · Meeting of July 28, 2026

KINGSTON — The Kingston Water Commission voted to hire retired water official Matt Dash as interim superintendent while it searches for a permanent replacement for outgoing Superintendent Chris. Commissioners set an initial four-month term for Dash, who is expected to start as soon as the Monday after the meeting at Chris's current salary rate, and tasked him with helping train his eventual successor. The board's engineering consultant, Kristen, reported the state will take up to 144 calendar days to review a pending well permit and that an environmental review meeting is set for August 5.

A member raised concern that Duxbury wastewater entering Kingston's aquifer through a sewer-sharing agreement could introduce PFAS, saying the Sewer Commission appears focused only on "dollar amount." The board agreed to send a letter asking the Sewer Commission to study the issue and moved its next meeting to August 4 to finalize a superintendent job posting.
