KINGSTON — May 28, 2026 — Kingston Select Board approves $63.7 million operating budget and new police funds ahead of June 6 Town Meeting. Meeting remotely on May 28, the five-member board worked through more than three dozen Annual Town Meeting warrant articles left unfinished from a prior session, unanimously recommending the $63,674,830 general fund operating budget for FY27 after Finance Director Carol confirmed a $23,304 payroll consultant adjustment and an additional $112,000 in updated state aid had been incorporated. The board also unanimously approved two new police-related funds: a $70,000-cap revolving fund for opioid settlement proceeds to support the department's family services unit, and a separate special fund for Chapter 111 F injury-leave reimbursements — though one member said he would vote against the latter at Town Meeting, citing concern about proliferating revolving funds.
