Kingston Select Board Approves Sewer Deal, Names Finance Director in Brief Session

KINGSTON — May 7, 2026 — Kingston Select Board approves sewer deal with Duxbury Miramar project, names new finance director. The board voted 4-0 on all three substantive items at its May 7 meeting, with member Don absent. Sewer department representative Elaine told the board the Duxbury Miramar connection would "help to maintain our rate structure and provide us additional revenue to pay debt" at no cost to the town or its sewer customers. The board also waived posting requirements under the town's wage and personnel bylaw to appoint Carol McCoy as finance director effective May 1, 2026, at a salary of $143,000 per year — matching the outgoing director's pay — with Town Administrator Scott authorized to negotiate a three-year employment agreement. In a third unanimous vote, the board appointed Ken Moalley as interim town treasurer through July 1, 2026, to bridge the gap between the spring election and the start of the new fiscal year.
